Aaron Miller - 2014-15 Adelaide Bite

Miller is an American import from the Los Angeles Dodgers organisation who played with the Adelaide Bite during the 2014-15 ABL season. Miller has been playing with the Dodgers since 2009, and spent 2014 playing for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes in the high A level California League.

Jake Bowey - 2014-15 Perth Heat

Bowey is a local Perth boy who signed with the Houston Astros in 2013. In 2014 he played for two of the Astros' rookie level teams - in the Gulf Coast League and the Dominican Summer League. Bowey played for the Perth Heat during the 2014-15 ABL season, his second in the ABL.

Aaron Sayers - 2014-15 Melbourne Aces

Aussie player Sayers spent 2014 with the Detroit Tigers Rookie level tam in the Gulf Coast league - his second season in the Tigers' farm system, before returning to the Melbourne Aces for the 2014-15 ABL season - his fourth in the ABL.

As with most of the Melbourne players, I wasn't overly happy with my shots of them, but was able to salvage the following shots as potential cards.

Wayne Ough - 2014-15 Canberra Cavalry

Victorian born Ough was picked up by the Canberra Cavalry in the 2014 off season. He played the 2014-15 ABL season with the Cavalry after having played the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons with the Adelaide Bite. An experienced campaigner, Ough had previously spent 5 years (2000 - 2004) in the New York Mets farm system, as well as being a member of Australia's Silver Medal winning team at the 2004 Athens Olympics

CJ Beatty - 2014-15 Brisbane Bandits

Beatty originally come as an independent American import to ply his wares with the Brisbane Bandits for the 2012-13 ABL season before heading back to the US. Good performances in the independent leagues  resulted in him being re-signed into affiliated baseball by the Chicago White Sox in 2014 . He started 2014 with the Washington WildThings in the independent Frontier League before the White Sox signed him and sent him to the Winston-Salem Dash in the high A level Carolina League. The White Sox sent Beatty for his second ABL stint with Brisbane  where he played during the 2014-15 ABL season.

I have to admit, I was conscious of the advertising signage in the background, and was trying to "give him his wings" in some of the shots I took.

Wilson Lee - 2014-15 Adelaide Bite

The tattooed Lee returned for his fifth season with the Adelaide Bite during the 2014-15 ABL season. The Bite used him as a starting pitcher this season rather than his usual relief role, meaning a lot more innings pitched this season.

Trent D'Antonio - 2014-15 Sydney Blue Sox

Local boy D'Antonio returned for his fifth ABL season with the Sydney Blue Sox in the 2014-15 ABL season. Despite being a regular Blue Sox player, I had hardly any shots of D'Antonio this year, so not the greatest quality image.

Jordan McDonald - 2014-15 Perth Heat

McDonald is local Perth boy who had just finished time in the USA, spending 2012 and 2013 at the Chattanooga State Community College and  2014 with the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. McDonald made his ABL debut with the Perth Heat during the 2014-15 ABL season.

Lots of photos of McDonald ... unsure of which to use. The last one is the best front on shot, but it's not very sharp.

Hayden Godbold - 2014-15 Melbourne Aces

Godbold is an Aussie rookie who made his ABL debut with the Melbourne Aces during the 2014-15 ABL season. I believe Godbold is originally from either NSW (was originally playing in the NSW state league) or the ACT (represented the ACT as a junior) , but have been unable to confirm exactly where.

Jack Murphy - 2014-15 Canberra Cavalry

Canberra crowd favourite and Toronto Blue Jays minor leagues Murphy returned for his third season with the Canberra Cavalry for the 2014-15 ABL season.  In 2014 he split time between the Buffalo Bisons in the triple A level International league and the New Hampton Fisher Cats in the double A level  Eastern League.

Murphy has the rare distinction of now having played over 100 games in the ABL (123 by season's end) - the first import player to have achieved this feat. Given that the ABL seasons have only been between 40 and 48 games over its history, it means it will be a while before any other import catches Murphy's tally.
